1 How do I edit my domain?
  1. See the Main menu on your left side and click on Settings. An option to customize / edit your domain will enable if you have upgraded your plan from free plan.

2 How to add your custom domain name to your FolioWebsites on GoDaddy?
  1. On the Foliowebsite builder, go to the settings page then click the ‘Domain’ dropdown. Check how your custom domain is registered to the app:

    If your domain is registered with ‘www’ (i.e. www.mywebsitedomain123.com)

  2. After logging in to your GoDaddy account and navigate on the My Products page. Select which domain you wish to link your Folio website and click the DNS button. (ex. mywebsitedomain123.com)

    • To link your registered domain to your Folio website (i.e.philliphicksphotography.foliowebsites.com), do the following step:

    • add ‘www’ CNAME record and point to your Folio website
      1. Host: www
      2. Points to: philliphicksphotography.foliowebsites.com
      3. TTL: 1 hour
  3. To redirect the root domain (i.e. mywebsitedomain123.com) to your Folio website (i.e. philliphicksphotography.foliowebsites.com):
    1. Set your A record value to 34.213.216.223
    2. If the domain registered to Folio is without ‘www’ (i.e. mywebsitedomain123.com)
    • To link your registered domain to Folio website:

    • Set your A record to 34.213.216.223
    • To redirect the root domain (i.e. mywebsitedomain123.com) to your subdomain (i.e.www.mywebsitedomain123.com) to your Folio website (i.e.philliphicksphotography.foliowebsites.com), do the following step:

    • add ‘www’ CNAME record and point to your Folio website
      1. Host: www
      2. Points to: philliphicksphotography.foliowebsites.com
      3. TTL: 1 hour
    • Once this is completed, allow 1-2 hours for the domain to propagate and update across the web. If you have any trouble updating your GoDaddy DNS records, please call GoDaddy support. You can also contact our support team with your GoDaddy login credentials and we can assist you further as needed.

3 How to add your custom domain name to your FolioWebsites on BlueHost?
  1. Navigate to My.BlueHost.com Enter your domain name, password and hit submit.

  2. Click Domains from the navigation.

  3. Check off the box next to your domain and then go to the Main tab and select Manage DNS records. Important: Make sure that nameservers are set to default

  4. In the Editor, under Add DNS Record, add the following values to the required fields to point your own domain to your Folio Subdomain.

    • Host Record: www
    • Leave the TTL field at “14400“
    • Type: CName
    • Points to: mydomain.foliowebsites.com (Please use your Foliowebsites subdomain here located in Settings page, then, domain section or you can copy and paste your website’s URL)
    • Then click Add Record button.
  5. Under domain, click redirect to add redirection.

  6. Input the following values to the required fields:

    • Choose Permanent
    • http://www.? : mydomain.com (Please use your custom domain here without “www”)
    • Redirects to: http://www.mydomain.com (Please use your custom domain here with “www”)
    • Select “Redirect with or without www”
    • Then click, “add this redirect

    Please be aware that DNS changes can take up to 48 hours to complete.

4 How to add your custom domain name to your FolioWebsites on Namecheap?
  1. Sign into your Namecheap account.

  2. Hover to the Account option in the upper right corner of the page and choose Domain List or choose the Domain List menu in the left sidebar.

  3. Click on the Manage option in front of the domain name you wish to set the CNAME (http://www.yourcustomdomain.com) record for.

  4. Go to “Advanced DNS” tab and use Add New Record option to add a new record. Add the following values to the required fields.

    • Type: CNAME
    • Host: www
    • Value: yoursubdomain.foliowebsites.com (your current subdomain in Foliowebsites) eg. lukeblairephotography.foliowebsites.com
    • TTL: Leave the value

    Then click, “Save All Changes” button.

  5. To setup URL redirect/forwarding for your domain, go to the “Domain tab > Redirect Domain section or “Advanced DNS” > tab Host Records section. Then, add the following required inputs:

    • Source URL: yourcustomdomain.com
    • Destination URL: http://www.yourcustomdomain.com
    • Select Unmasked. (if using Advanced DNS tab)

    Then, click the green checkmark or save.
    Please note that records with the same Host can cause conflict and therefore, must be removed in the Advanced DNS.

5 How to link Google Domain to my Foliowebsite?
  1. Sign into your Google Domain account.

  2. Go to my Domains section and click the DNS icon.

  3. To add a CNAME record, scroll to Custom Resource Records and add the following values to the required fields:

    • Type: CNAME
    • Name Input: www
    • Domain Name: yoursubdomain.foliowebsites.com e.g (lukeblairephotography.foliowebsites.com)

    Then Click Add

  4. To setup URL redirect/forwarding for your domain, scroll to Synthetic Records and add the following values to the required fields:

    • Source URL: yourcustomdomain.com
    • Destination URL: http://www.yourcustomdomain.com
    • Select Permanent redirect (301)
    • Select Forward Path

    Then Click Add
